One world, one story, from beginning to end.
REVIEWS
for 'The Warden of Lies'
*****
One thing that needs to be made absolutely clear is that you have to go into this story with an open mind. I've honestly never read anything like this.
The story itself was not flawless but of all the self published books I have read this one was the best.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect going into The Warden of Lies, but Jake Rab surprised me not just in the sheer ambitiousness of such a massive storyline, but also in the way he subverts readers' expectations and effectively turns a hero's journey on its head.

Absolutely hooked from the first page. I have been swept into a new world. Created and filled with magic. Incredible world building, early civilization and magical creatures. With Nature and Lore all wrapped up in mystery. I couldn't stop reading and look forward to book two!

PROGRESS REPORT
Currently working on:
'THE MORBID HEALER'
A standalone set two hundred and fifty years after the events of 'THE WARDEN OF LIES'. Inspired by the legendary Antarctic expedition led by Ernest Shackleton, this book follows a death-obsessed healer who joins a suicidal quest to edge of the world. It counts as Book 4 in the 'Children of Grania' world.
Book is 90% finished. Preparing now for final edits (proofreading and line editing)
Expected publication: April/May 2026. Could be earlier, but I want to take my time and do a proper launch with promo stacks and arc readers.
Next:
'THE WARDEN OF STORY'
OR
"THE MISTRESS OF BLOOD"
I'm not sure which book to write next. Writing The Morbid Healer has been a lot of fun, which I think resulted in a pretty good book. I may write the sequel to it, but I also might do the sequel to Warden of Lies.
I haven't decided yet.
I've also written an 8000 word short story called "THE DRUID'S LIE" which I will publish for free to my mailing list. I need to edit this though. This short story follows Arla. If it is true that people have heart dogs, then Arla is my heart character. She is the first I ever imagined, but also one I haven't yet come up with an idea for a full length novel. A short story will have to do for now.
SoonTM:
'THE WARDEN OF ROT'
'THE WARDEN OF ROT' will be the last instalment of 'The Girl Who Promised Trilogy'. I know what happens, how it happens, and who it happens to. I just need to outline it, write it, and click publish!
Expected publication: 2027/2028
There are many more books planned in the overarching 'Children of Grania' world, but since they are so far away I won't add them to this progress report just yet.
